ABOUT
Annapurna sanctuary (ABC) trekking is one of the well known trek in the world, located in the Annapurna lap of the Himalayas. Unforgettable views of the surrounding peaks will welcome you. The trek begins with lush plains and gradually rises towards the altitude. You will have beautiful views of Annapurna and many other mountains. This trek offers non-stop natural diversity with enchanting mountain views and Himalayan landscapes. Furthermore, the terraced fields of rhododendron and bamboo with a wide range of flora and fauna are the main attraction of the trek.
ITINERARY DETAILS
Day 1: International Flight
Usually it take one 1 to 2 days for the international flights depending to the country that you are flying from. If you arrive earlier we can help you to arrange a hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu - Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel
Once you landed to Kathmandu you can take a rest in the hotel and in the afternoon we can take a break or take a walk to Thamel street to visit local shops and market. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner with all the team member. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Pokhara by minibus / flight and overnight in Pokhara
We either take flight (30 minutes) or minibus (7-8 hours) toward Pokhara. Early in the morning we leave for Pokhara by bus. During the trip we will see the countryside of Nepal which offers lush greenery, rivers, villages, farms and beautiful mountain scenery.
Day 4: Drive to Nayapul, a pretty Gurung village along the Modi River and Trek to Ullleri (1,577 meters) 5-6 hours
Today we pass through the sub-tropical valley forests. After lunch, cross the bridge over the Bhurungdi Khola River and arrive at Tikhedhunga. The Ulleri hill with thousands of steps and boulders that continually go up and it will really prove to be a test of our stamina. Overnight in Ulleri.
Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani (2,750 meters) 5-6 hours
After breakfast, we walk up to the Ghorepani village. The name Ghorepani in Nepalese means 'horse-water' was an important campground for traders before becoming a stop on the trek. Ghorepani is an interesting place, with small shops and stalls selling local and artisan products. From Ghorepani you can see the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains, including Annapurna south and Nilgiri mountains. As we are at the highest point from our last stage we begin to feel cold especially in the evening. Overnight in Ghorepani.
Day 6: Trek to Tadapani (2,590m) 5-6 hours
To see the sunrise over the Himalayas, we make an early morning ascent along the steep path to the viewpoint of Poon Hill (3,210m / 10,529ft), the destination of most popular trek in the Annapurna region. It is also an excellent vantage point to enjoy beautiful views of Mustang valley, Pokhara valley and more than 20 of the highest mountains, including close-ups of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. After taking photographs and having some coffee or tea or hot chocolate, we head back to Ghorepani again. After breakfast, we head east and climb a nearby ridge. We descend through rhododendron forests, pass by spectacular waterfalls along the way and reach Tadapani to spend the night.
Day 7: Trek to Chhomrong (2170meters) 6-7 hours
The route begins with a descent through a large rhododendron forest. The forest path ends and you see beautifully terraced fields. We walk uphill for about 5 km then passing waterfalls and reach a hang bridge. After a few kilometers of ascent and descent we reach our destination Chhomrong. It is a beautiful village just below Annapurna. Overnight in Chhomrong.
Day 8: Trek to Bamboo (2310 meters) 4 - 5 hours
Today we leave Chhomrong village and walk up the stone steps just before reaching Chhomrong Khola. We cross a bridge and start an uphill trail to Sinuwa. Afterwards we cross a beautiful Kuldihar forest. From here we take an easy descent to bamboo. Overnight in Bamboo.
Day 9: Trek to Deurali (3230 meters) 3 - 4 hours
We pass through a bamboo forest which is bit humid and cold and we follow uphill path. We continue the trek through the forest to Himalaya lodge where we will again see solarium with amazing view of the glacial river below. After a steep climb you cross into the forest before reaching Hinku Cave. From here our route descends to a river before ascending to Deurali. From here, you can see spectacular views of the surrounding hills and Mount Dhaulagiri. Overnight in Deurali.
Day 10: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130 meters) via MBC (3700 meters) 5-6 hours
Today at the beginning we follow a steady climb. We hike on a somewhat flat path for a while before arriving at Machhapurchre base camp. From here you can enjoy beautiful views of Mount Hiunchuli, South Annapurna, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli and Gangapurna mountains. After we turn to the path and begin to gradually climb towards the Annapurna base camp. During our ascent you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Himalayan landscape and then you will arrive at the Annapurna base camp.
We are surrounded by magnificent peaks and the only course in this area is through the gorge which we have just hiked. Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp.
Day 11: Trek to Bamboo 7 - 8 hours
From Annapurna camp base we walk rapidly downhill passing Machhapuchhre base camp, Deurali, Himalayan Hotel and Doban and finally to bamboo, where we will spend the night. Trekking today is downhill so it shouldn't be very difficult. Overnight in bamboo.
Day 12: Trek to Jhinu Danda (1760 meters) 5 - 6 hours
Today we arrive at Chhomrong again where we might stop for lunch. From Chomrong it is a steep descent towards Modi Khola. The route descends to Jhinu Danda, where the night is spent. Along the way, we enjoy our walk through rainforests and farms. After reaching Jhinu Danda, we are able to spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying in the natural and relaxing hot spring. Overnight in Jhinu Danda.
Day 13: Trek to Nayapul & drive to Pokhara (820m) Duration 7-8 hours
This is our final day on the trail and after leaving Jhinu Danda we follow an easily traversed trail alongside the Modi Khola River for about 4 to 5 hours before reaching Birethanti Village. We then continue to Nayapul before driving back to Pokhara. Today’s trek and drive is about 7 to 8 hours. Overnight in Pokhara Hotel.
Day 14: Rest day in Pokhara
Today you can make Paragliding Temdem flight or Ultralight flight: Tour in Pokhara exploring David's Fall, Bat cave, Bindabasini Temple, and Mountain museum.
Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu
After breakfast, we travel by coach to Kathmandu. To celebrate the completion of our journey, we will have a farewell dinner in the evening. For dinner, excellent Nepali cuisine is served, which will introduce you to the food culture of the country. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 16: Final departure from Kathmandu
International flight from Kathmandu to your country.
